Meet Bianca Giurgiu
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
EMDR Certified Therapist
I am a passionate clinician who has walked on the path of accepting and embracing stressful life transitions. I know what is like to be in the seat of the one who needs unconditional support and guidance. So in working with you, I will not ask you to step into territories you are not ready for. I will guide you with both firmness and warmth to find or rediscover those treasures that are already in you, waiting to be seen. I believe that any work we do in therapy, weather is oriented on processing the past or getting more grounded in the present or preparing for the future, feels like arriving home within ourselves.
I welcome diversity in all shapes and forms. I lived in different parts of the world and am comfortable with differences based on ethnicity, language, gender identity, religious/spiritual beliefs, socio-economic status and so on. I fully support identity exploration and becoming the most authentic version of yourself.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time in nature - walking, hiking and running. I believe movement and an active relationship with all natural elements are essential in our happiness and health. I love to read, write, make things with my hands (cooking, pottery) and enjoy the company of my family and friends.
My philosophy
My philosophy of practice is informed by my views and experiences in life that have taught me how each of us have the ability to adapt. We typically come to this world in families, geographical places, cultures and groups that we may think we didn't necessarily choose - yet each of these comes with lessons that will help enrich, improve and/or humble us.
These beliefs have led me to study and practice the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model, which informs EMDR Therapy.
